There are plenty of options for accomodation in both Winchester.
There is camping at the startline, which is free of charge. Tents can be pitched from 1400 on Friday and must be cleared before 0930 on Saturday.
There are 8 tents available as part of our Exped Camping Village. All proceeds of which go directly to the amazing charity Trail Fam. You can pre-book a tent at the start line for £40 (link to follow). Each tent sleeps up to 2 people so you can share with someone else if you wish. When you arrive you will be shown to your tent with sleeping mat and you are good to go. You must still bring your own sleeping bag for hygiene reasons.
There are plenty of options for hotels in Winchester. Taxi's from most hotels within Winchester city to the start line on race morning will take around 15 minutes. We STRONGLY recommend you pre-book a cab as availability is limited and many runners choose this option.
The closest hotel to the start line is the Voco which is within walking distance of Matterley Bowl - please note to walk from the hotel to registration involves crossing two busy A roads. Runners must take care.
For those wishing to park at the finish so that their vehicle is accessible once they complete the race - a coach will leave from the finish at Event Field QECP at 0730 on race morning. The coach will make one stop only, Matterley Bowl / Race Registration - the journey should take approximately 45 minutes leaving plenty of time to register. Competitors who wish to take the shuttle can do so at a cost of £20 and tickets can be purchased during registration or by heading back into their registration on race director and adding the bus on.
There is also a coach back to Matterley Bowl at the conclusion of the race/ final cut off at 1900. Runners who have left a vehicle at the start may wish to purchase a return seat on that bus.
The nearest rail station to the start is Winchester which is around 4 miles or 12 minutes in a taxi/ car from the start point. The nearest rail station to the finish is Petersfield which is 5 miles from the finish.
START
The race start and location of race parking is at Matterley Bowl. The race starts in the natural amphitheatre that sits within the grounds of the Matterley Estate. Please reference the map below.
Cars may only enter and exit the estate via the gate at the Avington Cross Roads on the A31. The postcode to use is SO21 1HW but, you will need to also use the map/ what 3 words link below to find the correct gate. Two Centurion feather flags will fly at the entrance directly on the A31.
Below is a map showing the ONLY vehicular entrance to the Estate. Please note runners should under no circumstances TURN RIGHT across the A31 to turn into the Estate. Cars approaching from the west must go up to the roundabout and return via the eastbound carriageway, making a left turn in. Similarly upon leaving all cars must again TURN LEFT. Remember - Left to enter. Left on exit.
The map below shows the route through the estate (around 2 mins of driving), as well as the parking and start/ registration location. Marshals will be on site to direct you from the entrance.
Please note no vehicular acess is possible between 0500 and 0730 on Saturday 13th June due to the SDW100 start.

FINISH
The race finish is at the Event Field, Queen Elizabeth Country Park, PO8 0QE. This is away from the Visitor Centre and Main Car Park so please reference the map and instructions on the Aid Station page - a feather flag will be visible on the road side.
